Mechanicsburg, PA — June 11, 2008 — Mechanicsburg Chamber of Commerce’s 80th Annual Jubilee Day™ sponsored by AmeriChoice FCU will be held on Thursday, June 19, 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. It is the largest, longest-running one-day street fair on the East Coast.

As music from two stages rings through the downtown on Thursday, patrons can enjoy great food, fun games, and exciting amusement rides. The event also features wares from local and regional artists and craftsmen.

“It is a great, affordable family outing,” said Jeff Palm, executive director of Mechanicsburg Chamber of Commerce, which puts on the annual event. He pointed out that many things at the event are FREE, including admission, shuttle bus parking, live entertainment, and a children’s area behind Citizen’s Bank. Palm acknowledges that without the generous sponsorships from local businesses, Jubilee Day™ would not be possible.

Jubilee Day™ has received local acclaim. Readers of Central PA Magazine rank Jubilee Day™ as a top favorite area festival. This popular street fair regularly draws thousands of people, and this year, 60,000 people are expected to attend.

“You could spend all day here,” said Palm. “Browsing vendor displays, taking in music and entertainment on two stages, and of course eating to your heart’s content!” Palm said there are more than 50 different food vendors at Jubilee Day™.
